IT AMC in Dubai: Annual Maintenance Contracts, Properly Scoped

Preventive maintenance, monitoring, support and lifecycle planning under an agreement that names exactly what is covered — and, just as importantly, what is not.

IT AMC in Dubai, in short

TKWIT Global provides annual maintenance contracts for IT and infrastructure estates in Dubai and the UAE: scheduled preventive maintenance, monitoring, corrective support, escalation and lifecycle planning under an agreement that states exactly what is covered.

  • Annual maintenance contracts for IT and passive infrastructure
  • Preventive maintenance visits on an agreed schedule
  • Monitoring, corrective support and escalation paths
  • End-user computing, servers, network and security systems

An IT AMC exists to convert unpredictable maintenance into a planned, budgeted programme. Done well, it keeps an estate in known condition, gives finance a stable number to work with, and gives the operations team someone accountable when something fails.

Done badly, it is a renewal invoice attached to a vague promise. The difference is almost entirely in the scoping: which assets are named, what maintenance actually happens and on what cycle, what falls outside the agreement, and what evidence you receive that the work was done.

Scope Areas

What an AMC can cover

Coverage is agreed per engagement. These are the areas most Dubai organisations bring into a single agreement rather than splitting across several providers.

End-user computing

Desktops, laptops, peripherals and the software estate that sits on them, including health checks, patching and hardware condition reviews.

Network infrastructure

Switches, routers, firewalls, access points and internet links — firmware currency, configuration backups, capacity checks and fault resolution.

Servers and storage

Physical and virtual servers, storage, backup jobs and restore verification, with attention to the platform services applications rely on.

Security systems

Surveillance, recording, access control and related infrastructure kept operational, current and correctly recorded rather than quietly degrading.

Structured cabling and passive infrastructure

Racks, patching, labelling and pathway condition — the layer that is usually ignored until a fault takes a day to trace.

Documentation and records

Asset inventory, network diagrams and configuration records maintained as living documents, so the estate stays knowable.

What The Contract Delivers

Five things a maintenance agreement should actually do

01

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled inspection and servicing on a defined cycle: firmware and patch currency, physical condition, cleaning and thermal checks, backup and restore verification, capacity headroom. The purpose is to find the failure before your users do.

02

Monitoring

Continuous visibility of the assets that can be monitored — availability, resource pressure, error conditions and backup outcomes — so that degradation surfaces as a task rather than as an outage.

03

Corrective support

Fault diagnosis and resolution within the agreed coverage, remotely where possible and on site where the work is physical, with a defined escalation route to senior engineering and vendors.

04

Reporting and review

Periodic reporting on incidents, maintenance completed, recurring themes and outstanding risks, reviewed with you so the contract is steered rather than simply renewed.

05

Asset lifecycle planning

A forward view of what is ageing, what is approaching end of vendor support and what should be budgeted for replacement — turning capital surprises into planned decisions.

How we scope coverage before proposing it

We assess first and quote second. Committing to maintain an estate nobody has examined is how contracts end up full of carve-outs.

  • Site walkthrough and physical inspection of the estate
  • Asset discovery and inventory, including firmware and support status
  • Review of existing documentation, monitoring and backup arrangements
  • Identification of end-of-life and unsupported equipment
  • Agreement on covered assets, coverage hours and explicit exclusions
  • A proposed maintenance calendar and reporting rhythm

Where AMCs usually go wrong

An unnamed asset list. If the agreement describes categories rather than assets, both sides are guessing about what is covered when something fails.

Maintenance that never happens. Preventive visits are the first thing to slip when a provider is busy. Ask for the calendar and the completion evidence.

End-of-life equipment inside scope. Unsupported hardware cannot be genuinely maintained. It should be identified, flagged and planned for replacement, not quietly absorbed.

No lifecycle view. A contract that covers only failures leaves you renewing indefinitely on ageing equipment, with no path to a better position.

Documentation held hostage. Configurations, credentials and diagrams belong to you. Confirm this before signing, not at exit.

Ask us to assess the estate before you renew

A documented assessment of what you own, its condition and its support status will tell you whether your current agreement is worth renewing at all.
